Sigma Design has collaborated with a technology manufacturing company seeking an experienced Test Technician to join their facility in Redmond. Our client is a global leader in advanced perception solutions for autonomy and mobility, with more than three decades of experience driving innovation at the intersection of hardware and software. Their engineering teams are recognized for deep expertise in laser-based sensing, solid-state sensor technologies, and perception software, delivering high-performance solutions across industries including automotive and trucking, warehousing and logistics, agriculture, mining and construction, robotics, automation, and defense. Primary Function:
The Test Technician supports manufacturing operations by performing calibration, validation, and functional testing of advanced sensor-based systems and subassemblies. This role is responsible for executing established test procedures, documenting results, and collaborating with engineering teams to troubleshoot failures. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working with electrical test equipment and software-driven test environments, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced production setting.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
  • Set up and execute calibration procedures on assembled systems in accordance with defined work instructions
  • Perform validation and end-of-line testing to verify system performance and quality standards
  • Conduct functional testing of systems and subassemblies using established processes and equipment
  • Accurately document test results, observations, and nonconformances
  • Identify failures or anomalies and communicate findings to engineering or leadership teams for resolution
  • Follow written procedures, safety guidelines, and quality requirements to ensure repeatable results
  • Utilize standard electrical test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power supplies
  • Execute test scripts and interact with command-line or text-based interfaces as required
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by providing feedback on test processes and documentation
  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on technical experience in testing, manufacturing, or a related environment
  • Experience following detailed written procedures and documenting results with a high level of accuracy
  • Working knowledge of standard electrical test equipment (e.g., DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies)
  • Ability to execute scripted tests or interact with command-line-based tools
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and aptitude for understanding moderately complex systems
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
  • ITAR - Permanent resident of the United States (“U.S. person” as defined by ITAR)
  • Background - Pass a post-offer background verification.
Work Environment
Standard lab/production environment. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
