We are currently looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Redmond, WA.  This role is full-time in-office. The salary range for this position is $115,000- $124,000 DOE.

Primary Function:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Failure Analysis (FA) and measurement activities. This role will work directly with product teams to understand and characterize system architecture and performance leveraging a structured problem-solving approach to drive towards root cause. As a Quality Engineer you will be a part of a dynamic, fast-paced team that operates on the cutting edge of technology while contributing to the development of the next generation of devices. You will work with cross functional partners to further inform product teams of system attributes.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, develop, record and perform failure analysis on electromechanical and soft goods components, subassemblies and systems to identify root cause of failures and propose corrective actions.
  • Drive failure analysis to root cause using cross-functional teams as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to design and implement testing strategies characterizing system performance.
  • Perform measurement activities utilizing traditional check gauges, CMM/OMM, X-Ray, CT Scanners and/or microscopes.
  • Respond to quality issues with initial investigation, identify and document failures, create visibility in issue tracking system.
  • Prepares reports, charts and diagrams to disclose results and highlight areas for further investigation. Develop and publish Quality metric reporting.
  • Report failures using defect tracking software. Initiate, review, analyze, update and close quality issues.
  • Drive the nonconforming material processes, including Material Review Board, for identification of root cause, documentation and follow through on the closed loop corrective action process.
  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or similar/relevant work experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience required.
  • CMM, OMM  experience required, CT Scan, X-ray and 3D point cloud SW (e.g. Polyworks, Smart Profile).
  • Solid understanding of electronics and experience in testing electronic components or systems
  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, GD&T, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Experience with destructive and non-destructive test methods. E.g. X-Ray, Push/Pull Test, submersive tests.
  • Working knowledge of statistics as it applies to test (Gage R&R, DOE, etc.)
  • Experience using a failure / root cause / corrective action process (5Y, CLCA, CAPA, FRACAS).
  • Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one's own work group.

Work Environment
Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation.  Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers.
