Sigma Design has collaborated with an aerospace and precision manufacturing company seeking an experienced Welder III to join their facility in Clackamas, OR. This company is an aerospace fabrication and machining shop.

  • $28.00 - $37.00 an hour
Primary Function:
The Welder III is responsible for performing advanced welding and fabrication tasks to assemble, repair, and manufacture metal components and structures while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and production standards.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced TIG, orbital welding, and brazing operations on materials including stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and Inconel
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, weld symbols, and specifications to complete fabrication work accurately
  • Inspect completed welds for quality, structural integrity, and compliance with applicable standards and requirements
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe and operational condition
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to support manufacturing schedules and troubleshoot fabrication issues
  • Perform fit-up, purge techniques, grinding, polishing, and pre/post weld finishing as required
  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of a certified welding training program or apprenticeship preferred
  •  Minimum of 5 years of professional welding experience preferred
  • Experience with TIG and orbital welding of thin-wall stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and Inconel preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of welding safety standards and quality requirements
  • Aerospace manufacturing or aerospace welding experience preferred
  • Ability to pass applicable welding certification tests as required
  • ITAR – Must be a US Citizen
  • Background - Pass a post-offer background verification.

Work Environment
Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
