Position Details:
  • The hiring range for this role is typically between $31 and $37, with the full range extending to $44, based on experience, internal equity, and career progression
  • This position will be In-Office

Primary Function: 

The Shipping, Receiving & Inventory Lead owns the day‑to‑day execution and reliability of all inbound and outbound material flow at Sigma Design. This role is responsible for shipping, receiving, and inventory accuracy to ensure materials are available, identified, and aligned with project needs in a fast‑paced, project‑based engineering environment.  

  

This position serves as the single point of accountability for physical material movement and inventory integrity within Supply Chain, emphasizing ownership, accuracy, and proactive problem‑solving.  

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities: 

  • Execute all inbound and outbound shipments, including carrier coordination, documentation, and scheduling.  

  • Receive, verify, label, and properly transact incoming materials.  

  • Prepare and ship materials according to project, customer, and compliance requirements.  

  • Track shipments and resolve issues related to delays, damages, or discrepancies.  

  • Assist in ensuring alignment between physical stock and system data.  

  • Own inventory transactions, adjustments, and reconciliation activities.  

  • Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or repeat issues and recommend improvement.  

  • Help guide team members on best practices for shipping, receiving, and inventory control, serving as a subject matter resource without direct supervisory responsibility.  

  • Maintain orderly, clutter‑free inventory storage areas to support daily shipping, receiving, and inventory activities.  

  • Conduct cycle counts and investigate inventory variances to root cause.  

  • Ensure materials are organized, identifiable, and traceable to projects.  

  • Respond effectively to changing priorities and unexpected issues, making sound decisions to keep materials moving, organized and projects on track.  

  • Assist department managers in developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.  

  • Perform other administrative & purchasing duties for supply chain department as needed.  

  • Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.   

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities) 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (3–5 years) in shipping, receiving, and inventory control.  

  • Demonstrated experience owning day to day shipping, receiving, and inventory accuracy within a supply chain environment.  

  • Experience working with ERP or inventory management systems; NetSuite experience preferred.  

  • Working knowledge of inventory control practices, including transactions, adjustments, and cycle counting.  

  • Understanding of manufacturing or engineering environments, including part numbers, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and revision control.  

  • Strong attention to detail with a high standard for accuracy, organization, and follow through.  

  • Self motivated individual able to manage shifting priorities and maintain execution discipline in a project driven environment.  

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively—verbally and in writing—with engineers, project managers, supply chain partners, and vendors.  

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams while maintaining clear ownership of responsibilities.  

  • Ability to help guide others on best practices through influence, expertise, and example, without formal supervisory authority.  

  • Demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion when handling information and resolving issues.

Work Environment  

Inventory/Shipping/Receiving: Standard warehouse/production environment which requires regular sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and moving about the facility. Must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. Temperature of work area may be affected by outside temperatures.
