Instrumentation and Controls Engineer (Contract-To-Hire)
Sigma Design has partnered with a leading control systems integration firm in Bend, OR, to hire an experienced Instrumentation and Controls to join their facility in Bend, OR. This company delivers comprehensive, innovative automation solutions through a highly skilled team of professionals, serving clients with distinct, tailored systems that set industry standards. This position is contract to hire role based in Bend, OR with initial project travel to the bay area.

Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities:
Hardware and software design of process automation control systems projects
Providing control system start-up and commissioning services
Troubleshooting existing control systems
Control systems project management
Design oversite
Submittal packages
System documentation development
Direct interfacing with customers
Multi-industry control system design including:
PLC program development (primarily Allen-Bradley)
HMI development (primarily Wonderware System Platform and Ignition)
Electrical Design
Instrumentation specification
Networking configuration
Customer support Follow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive data and reduce information security occurrences.
Education and Experience: (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
Engineering Degree -BS/MS , or equivalent technical training
Three or more years’ experience with systems integration.
Excellent interpersonal skills with co-workers and customers
Ability to clearly communicate with customers to diagnose control system issues
Ability to adhere and contribute to in-house standards
Ability to use MS Office products with no training
Valid driver’s license for customer site visits
ITAR - Permanent resident of the United States (“U.S. person” as defined by ITAR)
Background - Pass a post-offer background verification.
Work Environment Standard office environment with normal amounts of office related conditions. Occasionally may be required to work in environmental conditions that emulate typical user environments in order to facilitate design testing and validation. Occasionally may be required to travel as required to other facilities, clients, or suppliers.
